Begin a New Family Holiday Tradition with “Gift of Lights”
Posted on November 18th, 2011 No comments
For generations, families have enjoyed visiting brightly lit neighborhoods during the holiday season to see the creative and festive displays that bring joy to so many. This year, there is a fun new way to see holiday light displays in New Hampshire, complete with hot chocolate, holiday music on the radio, and photo opportunities with Santa, all from the comfort of your own car.Gift of Lights, New Hampshire’s newest holiday light park, is ready to wow folks of all ages at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. From November 18th through January 1st, millions of LED lights will twinkle in hundreds of displays, creating a festive atmosphere that is certain to form lasting memories. The event will feature more than a mile of lights along the racetrack. Groups can cruise in their own vehicles and listen to holiday songs on the Speedway radio station while admiring the show. There is even a brilliant tunnel with thousands of lights that seem to chase each other!
The infield of New Hampshire Motor Speedway has been magically transformed into Santa’s Village, where children can enjoy hot cocoa and have free photos taken with Santa Claus and other Christmas characters.
Gift of Lights was created by a partnership between 3 Dudes Productions and Winterland, Inc. After having success with previous light parks across the country, the two companies have joined forces to bring a festive holiday experience to New Hampshire.
“The light park is a staycation! It is affordable entertainment that creates everlasting memories,” says David Fred, owner of Winterland. “As people return each year, they say they have been looking forward to experiencing the magic of the holiday season by coming to our light shows.”
Not only are the light displays fun and magical, they are eco-friendly as well. By installing LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) in this and their other light parks, the companies have demonstrated a commitment to going green. Winterland switched from incandescent lights to LEDs at other parks and has seen vast differences in the amount of energy expended.
In the spirit of giving back to the community, all of the light parks created by the 3 Dudes and Winterland partnership will be donating to charitable organizations. One hundred percent of New Hampshire Motor Speedway proceeds will be given to Speedway Children’s Charities. The event also will be a drop-off site for Toys for Tots and The NH Food Bank. Visitors to Gift of Lights will receive discounts in exchange for donations to either of these organizations. Also, at various Salvation Army locations, coupons for $2 off admission to the light park will be given to those who leave donations there.
“Giving to those in need is really what the Christmas season is all about,” says Mike Miller, president of 3 Dudes Productions. “We want to give the Gift of Lights to the entire community. Working with Speedway Children’s Charities, Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army will be a great way for this gift to carry on throughout the New Year.”

Gift of Lights at New Hampshire Motor Speedway kicks off its first season on November 18th and runs through the first of the year. The park will be open Monday – Thursday, 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Friday – Sunday, 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., and will even be open on Christmas Day!
