Now here’s a twist on trick-or treating that has plenty of treats for grown-ups (and kids too)—live music, a historical walking tour, and samples of specialties from local restaurants, all in one event! It’s the very first Meredith Trick or Eat, the signature “fun”raiser to benefit some great community organizations in the Lakes Region.Meredith Trick or Eat will take place this Sunday, October 28th from 2 – 5 pm in beautiful Meredith Village. The event is a collaboration between Better Together, the Meredith Pathway Committee, the Greater Meredith Program, and several local businesses. Members of the Meredith Village Pathways Committee will be dressed in period attire as they lead groups on a walking tour of Meredith and relate historical tidbits about the village at various stops along the way.
“Trick or Eaters” will also be able to enjoy bites of delicious cuisine from the participating restaurants on the tour, including Lago, Lakeside Deli, George’s Diner, Mame’s, Sunshine and Pa’s, Giuseppe’s, Meredith Village Pizza, Phu Jee’s, Frog Rock Tavern, and Kara’s Café and Cakery.
Throughout the afternoon, live music and family entertainment will be at Chase House, where the tour begins and ends. The lineup of local talent includes Janet and Phil Sangledocci from 1 – 2 pm, the Happy Tunes Band from 2 – 3 pm, Julia Velie from 3 – 4 pm, and New Horizons from 4 – 5 pm.

Sandy Sabutis, Janis Roberts, Liz Lapham, and Chris Schwidder from the Meredith Village Pathways Committee will be historical guides for Meredith Trick of Eat. Missing from the picture are Ann Sprague and Pam Coburn.
Tours will depart every 20 minutes, and reservations for a tour can be made at The Meredith Area Chamber of Commerce, either by calling 603-279-6121 or stopping by the office to confirm a tour time with payment. The Chamber will be open extended hours on Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm to take reservations for Trick or Eat. Tickets will also be available at the door on Sunday, but space is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets are $10 for Adults and $5 per child 12 and under. Folks are encouraged to arrive at Chase House a half-hour prior to their reserved time and plan on about one hour for the walking tour.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Got Lunch! Inter Lakes program, which provides healthy summer lunches for the children in need, and Better Together, a grassroots group of citizens who meet monthly for the purpose of enhancing the greater good in the community.
Halloween costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best adult, child, family costumes. Come on out and see the creativity that the locals are brewing up this year, and help out some great causes at the same time! Hope to see you at Meredith Trick or Eat!
