The League of NH Craftsmen has a great lineup of workshops and demonstrations, where you can meet the artists and be a part of some of the creative processes as the fine pieces come to life. Check out what’s happening at the Meredith Retail Gallery this December…

Felted Animal Demonstration with Carolyn Wright
    Saturday, December 1st, 2012, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Stop in and see how Carolyn brings wool to life in creative ways – from chickens, sheep, and lions, to stars, moons, and eggs! Carolyn creates her wonderful characters by the process of needle felting. Are you interested in exploring this art form? Come with your curiosity and questions, as Carolyn shows her work in its various stages.

Making of the 2012 League of NH Craftsmen Annual Ornament with Aaron Slater
    Sunday, December 2, 2012, 1:00 -  3:00 p.m.

Come and see how the 2012 Annual Ornament is made! Woodland Treasure is a glass acorn fused to an actual acorn cap, which is then embellished with an embossed copper oak leaf, and attached to a handmade copper hook. Aaron will discuss the techniques used to create each ornament, and different steps of the process from start to finish.

Fabric Painting and Decoration with Elena Wikstrom
    Saturday, December 15th, 2012, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Come and see our featured artist for the month of December! Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Elena Wikstrom gained over 20 years of experience in painting on fabric as a costume designer for different theaters and music halls. After moving to the United States in 2003, she has continued to use her knowledge and experience with fabric to create new pieces of home décor, such as tablecloths, Christmas ornaments, paintings, and greeting cards. Elena’s art is a creative imitation of embroidery, using paint instead of thread, and her attention to detail is incredible. Learn about her techniques and unique designs, and take home a Christmas ornament for your tree!

All demonstrations at the League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Retail Gallery are free and open to the public. The gallery is located at 279 Daniel Webster Highway, next to Church Landing at The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls.
