Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been over a year since Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté opened “The Grotto,” a beautiful and cozy room in the original foundation of the old linen mill at Mill Falls, with plenty of space for private parties, wine dinners, and intimate live concerts. In fact, The Grotto’s Dinner Concert Series has been well received by audiences, who have been filling the room since last March to enjoy distinctive performances by respected national touring artists.
Canadian singer-songwriter David Francey was the first in the Dinner Concert Series lineup, and he will be returning for his second performance at The Grotto this coming Wednesday, March 14th. “We were so fortunate to have him debut our new dinner concert series last March, when he performed to a sold-out audience,” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s. “His return visit is greatly anticipated.” Read the rest of this entry »

If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Dinner Concert Series at The Grotto and attend one of the distinctive concerts there, you’ve been missing out on an opportunity to see some amazing musical talent in a unique and intimate setting. But fear not—the concert series is just getting warmed up, and this local eatery has some more great national acts scheduled to play.
This past March, The Grotto opened its doors in Meredith, NH, and is already becoming a well-respected venue thanks to its lineup of distinctive national touring artists, as well as local musical talent. The Grotto is a new concert space and dining room at Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté, located at The Mill Falls Marketplace, an old linen mill that was tastefully converted into shops and restaurants in 1984. Giuseppe’s has been a favorite live music spot for over 20 years, and the addition of The Grotto is an extension of Giuseppe’s commitment to bring quality live music to visitors and residents of the Lakes Region.
This coming Wednesday, October 26th, The Grotto will welcome folk artist Peter Mulvey with special guest Carsie Blanton. Says The Boston Globe about Peter, “Gleefully mercurial…equal parts breezy jazz and whispery folk. His voice feels like fine old leather, and his guitar sounds like it’s on steroids…a superb technician with a fondness for ignoring the rules…a genre-defying traditionalist — a knuckleballer with finger-picks.”
“The concert series so far is a huge success!” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s. The Grotto’s first two dinner concerts, performed by highly acclaimed artists David Francey and Willy Porter respectively, were sold out. David Francey’s first concert here went so well, he is planning to perform at The Grotto again next March!
For each concert, pre-show dinner reservations begin at 6:30pm, and the show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $20.00 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. For more information, call Giuseppe’s at 603-279-3313.

Relive the glory days of Rock and Roll this weekend as Meredith Village puts on a party that would be the envy of any community back in the fifties, complete with a barbeque picnic, hot rod cars, and live music in the streets!
The Greater Meredith Program is gearing up for its 2nd Annual Rock n’ Roll Cruise Night, which will take place on Saturday, August 20th. The “night” actually starts at noon, with a Tennessee Barbeque in Hesky Park that features ribs, pulled pork, and all the traditional BBQ fixin’s. This picnic is new this year, and will go until the food runs out!
The fun really begins at 6:30pm, when a parade of classic and custom hot rods and muscle cars cruise into town. These vintage cars will be coming straight from the Granite State Nationals at the Sandwich Fairgrounds to celebrate, lining up for the procession at Inter- Lakes High School on Laker Lane, then cruising into the village for their Main Street destination. Last year, there were over 60 cars in the Auto Cruise Parade, and the turnout is expected to be even bigger this year.
At 7:30, the party kicks into high gear with a street dance in Community Park on Main Street, where the band City Limits will perform classic Rock ‘n’ Roll from the 50s and 60s. Twist and shout the night away in your best vintage attire! Poodle skirts, anyone?
If you can come into town early and enjoy dinner in Meredith, it will be well worth it, as several local restaurants are getting in on the fun and offering discounts for Cruise Night. Giuseppe’s Pizzeria is taking $5 off every dinner bill, and at Mame’s Restaurant, diners can get 50% off the second main course dish. Many other eateries are extending special offers, too, so be sure to ask at your favorite place!
Put on your dancing shoes and cruise on up to the Lakes Region this weekend, where you can take a trip back in time and help out a good cause, too—all proceeds from the event will benefit local Lakes Region non-profits!

This past March, The Grotto opened its doors in Meredith, NH, and is already becoming a well-respected venue thanks to its lineup of distinctive national touring artists, as well as local musical talent.
Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté, which has been a favorite live music spot for over 20 years, recently expanded its cozy restaurant in The Mill Falls Marketplace and built a new room in the old linen mill to accommodate larger events. This new space, called The Grotto, is available for private parties and hosts dancing every Friday and Saturday night with DJs and live bands, but it’s the Dinner Concert Series that sets this venue apart.
In March and April, The Grotto welcomed renowned and highly acclaimed artists David Francey and Willy Porter respectively, both of whom played for a full house. “The concert series so far is a huge success!” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s. “We have sold out both shows, and everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy the shows very much.”
Next up is Jeffrey Foucault, who will be performing on Wednesday, May 18th. According to his website, this Western Massachusetts musician has spent the last decade “mining the darker seams of country and blues, producing a string of spare and elemental albums of rare power while garnering accolades across the United States and overseas for a tersely elegant brand of songwriting set apart by its haunting imagery and weather-beaten cool.”
The Grotto doors open at 6:30 with a dinner menu and full bar available. Julie encourages guests to come early to get a good seat and get started on a delicious meal before the show starts at 8:00. Tickets are $20.00, which is an amazing deal to see a gifted musician in such an intimate setting, and all proceeds go directly to the artist. Says Julie of the touring artists, “My interest is in sharing their music with the folks from around The Lakes, Mountains, and Seacoast Regions of New Hampshire.”
For tickets or more information on the concert series, please visit Giuseppe’s website or call the restaurant at 603-279-3313.

Since 1989, Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté in Meredith, NH has been serving up great live music with its award-winning Italian cuisine and festive charm. The restaurant features well-known local and regional musicians seven nights a week, and has become one of most popular and loved destinations in the Lakes Region. With the addition of its new room, “The Grotto,” Giuseppe’s can now host even more special events, and has lined up some national touring acts for its exciting new Dinner Concert Series.
Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois has owned and operated Giuseppe’s in the Mill Falls Marketplace for 21 years. She takes pride in having an establishment that features live nightly musical entertainment, and is excited about the restaurant’s expansion in May, which will provide the space for concerts that they haven’t had until now. “We recently created “The Grotto” at Giuseppe’s, a beautiful room in the original foundation of the old Linen Mill at Mill Falls,” says Julie. “This room has character with old stone, brick, wood, wrought iron and canvas.”
The Grotto is available for private parties and wine dinners, and is regularly hosting Karaoke nights, DJ nights, and Live Band nights. The new room provides an intimate concert setting, and will be the home to the new Dinner Concert Series beginning in March. The series will feature national touring artists such as David Francey, Willy Porter, and Jeffrey Foucault. Julie is also planning a local artist concert series for the future. Food and beverages from the menu and full bar will be served during all shows.
“I am offering each artist 100% of the ticket sales and would be so pleased if we could fill the room for them,” says Julie. “These touring artists work so hard, and are so very talented. My interest is in sharing their music with the folks from around The Lakes, Mountains, and Seacoast Regions of New Hampshire.”
