David Francey will be at The Grotto March 14

Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been over a year since Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté opened “The Grotto,” a beautiful and cozy room in the original foundation of the old linen mill at Mill Falls, with plenty of space for private parties, wine dinners, and intimate live concerts. In fact, The Grotto’s Dinner Concert Series has been well received by audiences, who have been filling the room since last March to enjoy distinctive performances by respected national touring artists.

Canadian singer-songwriter David Francey was the first in the Dinner Concert Series lineup, and he will be returning for his second performance at The Grotto this coming Wednesday, March 14th. “We were so fortunate to have him debut our new dinner concert series last March, when he performed to a sold-out audience,” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s. “His return visit is greatly anticipated.” Read the rest of this entry »

Peter Mulvey will be at The Grotto Wednesday, October 26

If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Dinner Concert Series at The Grotto and attend one of the distinctive concerts there, you’ve been missing out on an opportunity to see some amazing musical talent in a unique and intimate setting.  But fear not—the concert series is just getting warmed up, and this local eatery has some more great national acts scheduled to play.

This past March, The Grotto opened its doors in Meredith, NH, and is already becoming a well-respected venue thanks to its lineup of distinctive national touring artists, as well as local musical talent.  The Grotto is a new concert space and dining room at Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté, located at The Mill Falls Marketplace, an old linen mill that was tastefully converted into shops and restaurants in 1984.  Giuseppe’s has been a favorite live music spot for over 20 years, and the addition of The Grotto is an extension of Giuseppe’s commitment to bring quality live music to visitors and residents of the Lakes Region.

This coming Wednesday, October 26th, The Grotto will welcome folk artist Peter Mulvey with special guest Carsie Blanton.  Says The Boston Globe about Peter, “Gleefully mercurial…equal parts breezy jazz and whispery folk.  His voice feels like fine old leather, and his guitar sounds like it’s on steroids…a superb technician with a fondness for ignoring the rules…a genre-defying traditionalist — a knuckleballer with finger-picks.”

“The concert series so far is a huge success!” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s.  The Grotto’s first two dinner concerts, performed by highly acclaimed artists David Francey and Willy Porter respectively, were sold out.  David Francey’s first concert here went so well, he is planning to perform at The Grotto again next March!

For each concert, pre-show dinner reservations begin at 6:30pm, and the show starts at 8:00pm.  Tickets are $20.00 and may be purchased in advance or at the door.  For more information, call Giuseppe’s at 603-279-3313.

Jeffrey Foucault performs live at The Grotto on Wednesday, May 18

This past March, The Grotto opened its doors in Meredith, NH, and is already becoming a well-respected venue thanks to its lineup of distinctive national touring artists, as well as local musical talent.

Giuseppe’s Pizzeria & Ristoranté, which has been a favorite live music spot for over 20 years, recently expanded its cozy restaurant in The Mill Falls Marketplace and built a new room in the old linen mill to accommodate larger events.  This new space, called The Grotto, is available for private parties and hosts dancing every Friday and Saturday night with DJs and live bands, but it’s the Dinner Concert Series that sets this venue apart.

In March and April, The Grotto welcomed renowned and highly acclaimed artists David Francey and Willy Porter respectively, both of whom played for a full house.  “The concert series so far is a huge success!” says Julie Gnerre-Bourgeois, owner of Giuseppe’s.  “We have sold out both shows, and everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy the shows very much.”

Next up is Jeffrey Foucault, who will be performing on Wednesday, May 18th.  According to his website, this Western Massachusetts musician has spent the last decade “mining the darker seams of country and blues, producing a string of spare and elemental albums of rare power while garnering accolades across the United States and overseas for a tersely elegant brand of songwriting set apart by its haunting imagery and weather-beaten cool.”

The Grotto doors open at 6:30 with a dinner menu and full bar available.  Julie encourages guests to come early to get a good seat and get started on a delicious meal before the show starts at 8:00.  Tickets are $20.00, which is an amazing deal to see a gifted musician in such an intimate setting, and all proceeds go directly to the artist.  Says Julie of the touring artists, “My interest is in sharing their music with the folks from around The Lakes, Mountains, and Seacoast Regions of New Hampshire.”

For tickets or more information on the concert series, please visit Giuseppe’s website or call the restaurant at 603-279-3313.
