Lake Winnipesaukee from Boathouse Lodge, March 4, 2013

As soon as I learned that Mill Falls at the Lake would be adding a yoga studio to its amenities, I knew I had to make the trip from the seacoast of NH to check it out! Being a yoga student myself, I am well acquainted with the many calming and healing benefits this wonderful practice can bring, and I realized that Mill Falls is the perfect spot for a yoga center—it’s perched on Meredith Bay overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Winnipesaukee, the outstanding service and top-notch ambiance at the Inns facilitate a peaceful getaway experience, and the full menu of offerings at Cascade Spa go hand-in-hand with a nourishing yoga retreat—a trinity of relaxation treasures! • The Flying Monkey Brings World Class Performances to Plymouth NH

Posted on June 1st, 2012 admin 1 comment

Nearly two years ago, The Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center opened its doors with a sold-out Legends of Rock N’ Blues show. Since then, the former Plymouth Theatre on Main Street in downtown Plymouth has built a steady following for its top-notch performances, as well as its great lineup of films, all of which take place in a unique setting.

The Plymouth Theatre was built in the 1920s and went through many changes over the years, eventually becoming a cinema with two screens dividing the once grand theater hall. It then stood empty for many years until Alex Ray, owner of the Common Man family of restaurants (which includes Lago, Lakehouse, and Camp here in Meredith), purchased and re-opened the building in December 2009, showing classic and first-run movies in the existing movie theaters. Dinner at Lakehouse Grille

The official beginning of winter is just around the corner, and colder temperatures outside bring longings for warmth and comfort inside.  Thoughts turn to cozy fireplaces, hot cocoa, and rich, satisfying meals.  In this quaint NH village, the partner restaurants of the Inns & Spa at Mill Falls and have created new winter menus to reflect the changing seasons and offer guests some imaginative new and traditional dishes that bring warmth, comfort, and contentment inside and out.

“We always roll out two new fresh menus a year, one based on the winter season and one based on the summer season,” says Sean Brown, General Manager for Camp, Lago, and Lakehouse Grille from the Common Man Family of Restaurants.  “We never change the whole menu but we certainly change a decent portion of it.  With the wintertime menus, we’re definitely focusing on heartier dishes, dishes with a little bit more of a wintertime theme.” Read the rest of this entry »

  • Seven Deadly Sins Wine Dinner Returns to Meredith

Posted on September 16th, 2011 admin No comments

Looking for a dining experience that’s so decadent it may just be sinful?  Look no further than Meredith, NH, where Lakehouse Grille will hold its annual seven-course wine dinner featuring delectable dishes paired with luscious wines from Michael David Winery, the makers of Seven Deadly Zins and many other fine wines.

The Seven Deadly Sins Wine Dinner will take place on Wednesday, September 21st at 6pm in the new Carriage Room at Lakehouse Grille.  With its sweeping views of Lake Winnipesaukee, this beautiful part of Church Landing at the Inns & Spa at Mill Falls provides the perfect setting for a fabulous meal.  The evening will be hosted by Michael and Kristy Phillips, owners of Michael David Winery.

The event is a seven-course dinner, with each course named after one of the biblical Deadly Sins, also known as the Cardinal Sins or Capital Vices.  The dishes on the menu are so indulgent, they’re sinful!  A complementing wine from Michael David Winery also balances each course.  For example, the second course, “Pride,” is pan-seared monkfish medallions with Walker Farm corn sauce and Church Landing herb emulsion, served with a glass of Incognito White.  The dessert course is called “Lust” and features devil’s food brownie cake with raspberry butter cream and strawberry Chambord reduction.  Scary good!

The dinner is a great deal at $65 per person.  For reservations, call Lakehouse Grille at 603-279-5221 or visit theCman.com, and get ready for a sinfully good time!

  • Winner of Complimentary Overnight Stay Shares Her Experience

Posted on February 25th, 2011 admin No comments
Jennifer and Joe at Mill Falls

Jennifer and Joe at Mill Falls

When The Inns and Spa at Mill Falls posted a giveaway on Facebook for an overnight stay in honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week, Jennifer Yahoodik from Boston ended up the lucky winner.  The only condition was that she had to pay it forward and invite some friends along to enjoy a room at the Inns as well.  So Jennifer and her fiancé, Joe, brought their good friends and “super-fun-couple,” David and Katie, to Meredith for a spontaneous Friday night getaway.

Jennifer has been a fan of the Inns for about ten years, since her mother brought her here for a weekend one fall.  “She had booked a stay at Mill Falls for Columbus Day weekend for her and my father.” said Jennifer.  “When work called my father away, she took me instead of having to cancel her reservation.  Columbus Day weekend is now a ten-year-strong mother-daughter weekend, and in 2010 my sister joined the trip as well.”

“Each time we return, we mix it up and stay at either Bay Point, Mill Falls, or the newest hotel, Church Landing.” Jennifer continued. “Every time I am up in Meredith staying at the Inns, my only two wishes are to never have to leave, and wishing I could share the experience with everyone I know and love.” Read the rest of this entry »
