Celebrating Mom Contest Winner
We received an overwhelming response to our Celebrating Mom contest. Many thanks to everyone who wrote in and shared their stories. We can all agree that there is no shortage of amazing mothers! With that said, congratulations to T.J. on the winning entry. This speical mother will be receiving an overnight stay at Church Landing, dinner for two, a 50 minute facial or massage of her choice at the Cascade Spa and a Spa amenity basket.

Like a tea bag, the more hot water we put our Mom in the stronger she gets. Our Dad died suddenly when my sister and I were teenagers. We were devastated and felt lost. Mom was equally distraught and feeling sorry for herself never even entered her mind. We grieved for a while and then Mom went about the business of rebuilding our lives. She worked two, sometimes three jobs. She was always an active P.T.A member, she was an assistant soccer coach and always made us feel warm and loved.......always. We were typical kids, a few scrapes with the local police, trouble at school, things like that. Mom took NO nonsense. Our lives were to include discipline and studies and there would be no shortcuts. She never waivered, showing us how to live by her example and her virtue. She's the most respected and adored woman in town and she expected us to earn the same reputation by working hard and respecting others. She is the guiding light in our lives. We can never repay her for all she taught us by her inner stringent and her sense of fairness. Now that we're grown and leading our own lives we feel that we are well prepared for life's little twists. Mom's only vacation in 12 years was a weekend at your Mills Falls complex. She STILL raves about how wonderful and relaxing it was and it was a highlight in her life. She would be blown away if she were chosen for a day at your spa. We love her and KNOW you will too!
