12 Dec Don’t Miss this Year’s Meredith Village Art Walk and Christmas Stroll!
As the days grow ever shorter and the winter nights come early over New England, we draw our attention indoors to pursue creative endeavors or gather with friends and family to honor warmth, light, and love. In this spirit, the Meredith Village Galleries have partnered with The Greater Meredith Program to present an evening of good cheer and sharing with a collaborative Christmas Stroll and Art Walk in this quaint lakeside village.
Next Thursday evening, December 18th, from 5 – 7pm, four galleries in Meredith will open their doors for the fifth annual Meredith Village Art Walk. Visitors can stroll through candlelit storefronts in quaint Meredith Village and view beautiful local and international works of art while chatting with local artists and enjoying refreshments. Gallery-goers can also catch a ride on a horse-drawn wagon, which will loop around the village several times and make stops at all the participating galleries, including Gallery 51, VynnArt, the lakes gallery at chi-lin, and Bleu Waves. Gallery 51 will feature original art by Christine Hodecker-George, The VynnArt Gallery & Art Supplies will exhibit the Lakes Region Art Association’s “Small Painting Sale,” the lakes gallery at chi-lin will be sharing gifts from international non-profits, and Bleu Waves will be celebrating its Grand Opening and offering fine art by Carole Halsey Keller. This year, the Art Walk’s 50/50 raffle will benefit the GOT LUNCH! Inter-lakes Program.
In addition, The Greater Meredith Program is planning its annual “Christmas Stroll in the Village” to complement the Art Walk. Guests of all ages will enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening. From 5 – 5:30 a Christmas Craft project for children will be offered at the Meredith Library. Also during the Stroll, one of Santa’s Helpers will be handing out candy canes, and an “Elf on the Shelf” contest will be part of the fun. The “Elf”, donated by Annalee Dolls, will move around among participating businesses this coming week until the Stroll, when keen observers can submit a ticket designating where the elf was last seen. At 6:30 pm, the Kinder Choir, made up of children ages 3-8 from the Imagerinarium in Moultonborough, will sing in Meredith’s Community Park on Main Street. The drawing for the “Elf on the Shelf” contest will follow at 6:45, when a winner will be chosen to receive an “Elf on the Shelf” book and DVD.
