The concert lineup for the rest of this winter will keep you hopping and warm you up from the inside out!
Jonathan Edwards with Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett of Little Feat – February 25, 7:30pm – “Warm as summer sunshine, real as the truth, intimate as a long overdue visit between old friends … such is a Jonathan Edwards concert.” Four decades into a stellar career, the artist delivers songs of passion, insight, and humor, all rendered in that pure and powerful tenor, which has only grown sweeter with age. In this special performance, Edwards joins with Paul Barrère and Fred Tackett, who have both played with Little Feat for many years and are now considered an important part of the Little Feat sound. Don’t miss this rare treat!
The Victor Wooten Trio Featuring Dennis Chambers and Bob Franceschini – February 26, 6:30pm – The youngest of five boys, Victor Lemonte Wooten began learning to play music at the tender age of two. He started performing in nightclubs and theaters as the bassist with the family band at age five, and at age six was on tour with The Wooten Brothers, opening shows for legendary soul artist Curtis Mayfield. Wooten is a 5-time Grammy Winner, a founding member of the Grammy award-winning band Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, the only multiple winner of Bass Player Magazine’s reader’s poll (3 times), and was voted one of the top ten bassists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. Wooten is now a faculty member at Berklee College of Music and is the co-director of the Victor Wooten/Berklee Summer Bass Program, which runs every summer. The Flying Monkey is excited to have this premiere musician return to their intimate venue!
Melvin Seals and JGB (Jerry Garcia Band) – March 2, 7:30pm – Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. With his contributions in the JGB for over 18 years, he helped pioneer and define what has now become “Jam Band Music.” From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up!
