It’s time for the 6th Annual Comedy Night at Church Landing

KWComedy_8x11_2016Get your laughs at the Landing! The feel-good event of the year is back—Kidworks Learning Center is once again teaming up with Mill Falls at the Lake and CruCon Cruise Outlet to bring the Meredith community a night of comedy and fun to benefit the children of Kidworks.

On Friday, March 25th, nationally recognized comedians Moody McCarthy and Dave Cooperman will perform at Church Landing as part of the Kidworks 6th annual Comedy Night fundraising event. The doors open at 7pm with a cash bar available, and the comedians take the stage at 8pm. This year’s show promises to be a good one!

Moody McCarthy is a stand-up comedian who lives in New York with his wife, daughter, and step-dog. Moody has made numerous TV appearances, highlighted by sets on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Moody began doing comedy in 1992 after his music and astronaut careers stalled. He soon distinguished himself as an original and was hired by Syracuse’s top radio show to cover sports and write jokes, two of his loves. After six years of performing regionally, Moody traded square footage for more comedy opportunities and moved to New York City. Moody’s material is described as smart and universal without being trite.

Dave Cooperman has been on the comedy circuit for two decades. He has been on the same bill with comedians such as Dave Attell, Bobcat Goldwait, Tracy Morgan, Bill Burr, and Jim Gaffigan. Dave recently appeared in the Boston Comedy Festival, and has been featured on the nationally syndicated radio show, “The Bob and Tom Show,” where his segment was repeated on their ‘Best of’ series, including being featured on their comedy CD “Oddballs.” Dave talks a lot about his interracial marriage, his rather poorly managed temper, and the challenges of raising five little boys, including two sets of twins. His act is characterized with physical comedy coupled with a lot of sharp jokes.

This is the sixth year Kidworks is setting the comedy stage as its annual fundraiser. Tickets to Comedy Night are $25 per person and include a dinner coupon for a buy one entrée, receive the second one at half price, valid that night at Lakehouse, Camp, Lago, or Giuseppe’s. Tickets can be added to any guestroom reservation or purchased locally at the Meredith Mobil Station across from the Town Docks. Proceeds from the event will go towards improving the Kidworks Learning Center facility and future programs.

Couple this event with the Mill Falls Spring INN offer for a great getaway! Rates start at $99 per night and include 1-night’s accommodations at Mill Falls, 15% off Cascade Spa services of 50 minutes or more, coupons for breakfast, dinner, and the Marketplace shops, and more.
