It’s time for the Altrusa Club’s 20th Annual Festival of Trees!

Festival of Trees 2011It’s that time of the year again – the Altrusa Club of Meredith will soon be hosting their 20th Annual Festival of Trees during the first full weekend of December. This much anticipated event will be hosted in a rustic barn at the Waukewan Golf Club in Center Harbor, NH, and will highlight a “forest” of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, traditional cookies and cider, and a special children’s tree, all while benefitting local charities and community projects.

The Festival of Trees runs throughout the weekend and will be open Friday December 4th from 2pm – 6pm, Saturday the 5th from 10am – 5pm, and Sunday the 6th from 12pm – 4pm. While enjoying apple cider and fresh cookies, visitors can stroll amongst over 50 magnificent holiday trees, which have been contributed and decorated by area businesses, nonprofit organizations, individuals, and families. Some are elegant, some whimsical, and some nostalgic, but all are wonderful! Children will especially enjoy the literacy tree, decorated in a children’s literature theme and surrounded by books, so each child can choose one to take home. Tickets will be available all weekend for the ‘Tis the Season Raffle, where folks can take their chances on several fabulous baskets as well as a Master’s Tournament Golf Flag, autographed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnie Palmer.

RED ORNAMENTposter finalAdmission to the festival is only $5, and free for children 12 and under. All proceeds benefit area Christmas funds, the Altrusa scholarship fund, and all community service projects of Altrusa. Following the Festival, Altrusa also distributes all donated trees through area Christmas funds and other outreach organizations. The Altrusa Club is grateful for the Lakes Region community, as well as the Festival of Trees hosts, the Hale family, for their generosity and continued support. Please come to Center Harbor next weekend to team up with this dedicated organization!
