Lakes Region Events Kick off the Holiday Season

Within just one week, the Lakes Region will start to take on a special new ambience as the holiday season approaches and folks begin to get into the spirit. Several fun holiday events will be opening next weekend, and these are just the beginning of a full and wonderful season in our corner of New Hampshire!

Christmas at the Castle – November 21 – 23 and November 28 – 30 – Castle in the Clouds presents two weekends of special exhibits and seasonal beauty. Get in the holiday spirit and enjoy vintage decor inside Lucknow, the famous hilltop estate overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. There will be live music, a local artisan fair, and more, including a catered hot buffet lunch in the beautiful Winnipesaukee Ballroom! Castle tour tickets can be purchased at the door and are $20 for adults and seniors, $10 for youth age 5-17, and $15 for Friends of the Castle (Become a Member). Gift of Lights – November 21 – January 3 – Experience the amazing display of LED lights on this festive drive through the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This is a holiday event that you don’t want to miss! Spanning over two miles, the Gift of Lights features over 60 holiday scenes and over 400 light displays. The course winds around the outside of the track’s grandstands and includes a portion of the NHMS Road Course. It also includes the popular Tunnel of Lights, which measures over 250 feet in length. Holiday Bazaar – November 22nd, 9am – 2pm – For early holiday shopping, come to the 5th Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Plymouth United Methodist Church in Plymouth, NH. Browse locally made handcrafts and gifts, enjoy the lunch café, and participate in the Women’s Fellowship Cookie Walk. One of the highlights will be the fresh evergreen wreaths from Maine. 3rd Annual Community Craft Fair – November 22 – 23, 9am – 2pm – Another fine fair with more locally made crafts and gifts can be found in our hometown at the Meredith, NH Community Center this weekend.
