The Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2016 Good Libations Tour opening the weekend of September 30th – October 2nd. This annual event, formerly known as Barrel Tasting Weekend, not only features local wines and meads, but now also includes beers, ciders, and spirits crafted in the Lakes Region and throughout New Hampshire. And this year, the weekend is just the beginning. The Good Libations Tour will last until the end of next summer!

There is a chill in the air, and folks everywhere are hunkering down for the coming winter. In the tradition of many California vineyards, six wineries in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire have joined forces and are planning to open house for two days of touring and tasting for the fourth annual Barrel Tasting Weekend. This year’s Barrel Tasting Weekend will take place on October 4th and 5th, from 11 am to 5 pm. The six participating wineries are: Coffin Cellars, Gilmanton Winery, Sap House Meadery, Haunting Whisper Vineyards, Newfound Lake Vineyards, and Hermit Woods Winery. New this year is the “ticket” to the event: a Lakes Region Barrel Tasting Commemorative Wine Glass that will serve as both a pass and tasting glass at each winery. Glasses will be available at all participating wineries and will cost $12.00 each.

Lake-Winnipesaukee-Antique-and-Classic-Boat-Show-2012-1721-215x215To celebrate summer and the Antique Boat Show coming up later this month, The Greater Meredith Program Promotions Committee is sponsoring a “Drop Anchor in Meredith” event, with many local businesses offering specials for the month of July and others giving discounts during the Antique Boat Show weekend of July 25 – 27th.  The organization is also hosting a “Landlubber’s Lot Dance” at the Community Park on Main Street on July 26th to really get into the swing of summer!
